For those of you who don’t have time to read the top articles of the day, I have some good news for you. I’ll do it and you can tune in here every day to receive to the point no nonsense summaries of it all.

Trumps rally chants of “send her back” have led the newly minted congresswoman to label him a racist and a fascist. Opinion continues to be very divisive on Ihlan Omar but most of the criticisms of her seem to be taken out of context.  While her accusation may seem hyperbolic Trump does have some fascistic tendencies such as government employee loyalty being to him instead of the country, scapegoating of certain ethnic groups, obsession with crime, punishment, national security and ultra-nationalism.

I’d give Trump a lot of credit if he would’ve stepped up like McCain did a few years back and shut down the chants, but unsurprisingly he didn’t. He claimed the next day that he did, but this was proven false by video evidence in the WashPo article.

This and the folks greeting Rep. Omar at the airport with friendly chants were very heartwarming to see. Just a reminder that the majority of people can still recognize decency and the morally right thing to do.

He’s not wrong. Republicans, especially their hard right wing base guys like Rush Limbaugh and Hannity have been calling The Clintons and Obamas communists and socialists for years, which is laughable because they’re very firmly centrists on economic policy, with slight leanings to the left on compromises like Obamacare (ACA).

This made me smile, its refreshing that so many other people see McConnell as the weaselly obstruction piece of shit he is. Hes a more in depth article on why McConnell sucks.
